Virtual Bots Challenges

RoverSS Challenges  The simulator will have a series of challenges for you to test you programming skills. Each of the challenges offer the user the opportunity to test their skills in a variety of technical areas. Preliminary missions are listed below. Planetary Rover: Man has adventured to the stars and the colony ship is in a solar system that scientists believe may contain a habitat planet. We launch your probe rover to various planets where you will search for life or water that would sustain life. Only your code will drive the rover in this search. The RoverSS version of this simulator will provide you with 12 landing zones and 5 mission challenges for each zone. Using the Simple Script to program the rover you have to overcome the mission obstacles to gain engineering levels. This mission series would be of great interest to people at NASA and JPL to find the next generation of scientists for the future exploration of space. Other Challenges The Proving Grounds: This basic mission is provided so the user can test their programming skills on some basic functionality. The location is the back lot of a research facility and will provide a space for you to do your training. This core set of missions was designed for the distance learning classes provided by the Professor and Pat site educational series for learning 6502 assembly code. Battlegrounds: The future of warfare is leading to autonomous robotic warriors. You will be presented with a series of battlefield situations for search and destroy or recon missions. You will need to write the code to drive the robotic warrior to accomplish the missions. Good luck out there! RaceTrack: The automotive industry and the military are interested in your ability to drive a unmanned vehicle to a target location. This challenge is an overland race for time. You have to navigate the landscape to reach the destination in the fastest time!
